Educational Service Unit No 5 offers a wide variety of services to all ten school districts, at no charge to the district. ESU 5 supported services may include school district support of their connection to the Internet. ESU 5 also provides Local Area Network (LAN) monitoring and support in which we monitor over 200 devices located in the districts using a PRTG monitoring server; devices include servers, switches, and firewalls.
Additional Services Include:

Many districts are implementing wireless access to their athletic field to give them the ability to stream athletic events over the internet.

PowerSchool Hosted Services technical support:

ESU 5 assists the Nebraska PowerSchool Cooperative in supporting over 45 districts’ PowerSchool data. The IT department monitors and manages the server infrastructure that hosts the data for over 20,000 students.

Fileserver Hosting Services

ESU 5 offers school districts the opportunity to have ESU 5 host their fileservers. Hosted services include: server creation, management, routing configuration, and backups.

On-Site District Technology Support

ESU 5 provides on-site district technology support which means an ESU 5 IT member travels to the district to provide support for all district technology needs; support may include managing network devices to working on an end-user (staff, students, etc) devices.

Support services for DHCP, DNS, Active Directory, content filter management and general server support, managed remotely.

Erate Filing and Management
Southeast Nebraska Distance Learning Consortium
Southeast Nebraska Distance Learning Consortium (SNDLC) currently supports districts in the ESU 3 and ESU 5 area, as well as two districts within ESU 6. SNDLC is the support entity for member districts for their video conferencing needs; currently SNDLC supports mobile and classroom conferencing solutions through Zoom.
SNDLC also offers member districts and other contracted districts support services for the Erate program. The Erate program provides school districts with discounts for their telecommunication needs, such as Internet Access and network infrastructure equipment, such as switches, wireless, etc.
