Alternative Education
The Southeast Nebraska Alternative Program (SNAP) combines resources and supports through an inter-local agreement between the participating school district and ESU 5.
A student may qualify for participation in SNAP if he/she meets the following criteria:
Must be 16 years of age
Lost credit due to attendance issues
Failed two or more core subjects
Experiencing serious personal, emotional or medical issues, and/or
Persistently inappropriate in the regular school environment.
SNAP utilizes a combination of interventions and strategies to ensure every student has an opportunity to reach their full potential. The academic day provides a varied setting between a more relaxed environment while still focusing on academics.
The placement team at the school district will determine if the program is the best interest of the student. Contact your school district for additional information regarding qualification for participation.
Edgenuity
ESU 5 offers Edgenuity, a credit recovery curriculum program, to its member school districts. Edgenuity is online course content that can be delivered in a variety of settings, such as online, blended learning for an alternative program and/or summer school.
