Dené Oglesby joined the ESU 5 staff in August 2024. Committed to continuous learning, she has always sought novel teaching environments. She is excited to share her enthusiasm for World Languages with rural districts, encouraging learners to develop a growth-mindset and cultural competence. With the support of ESU 5, she hopes to offer Distance Learning French courses in coming years. Prior to joining the ESU 5 staff, Dené taught English in Paris, France and French and Spanish at Ralston and Benson High Schools.

In her spare time, Dené studies regenerative agriculture, permaculture, and bioregional herbalism with her husband. They are always up to new projects and renovations on their acreage in Ashland. She loves to travel, read, volunteer, do yoga and exercise, learn about local flora and fauna, and spend time with her pets Bashir and Vixen.
