ESU 5 World Language Department going to Central States

At ESU 5, the World Language Department is a Distance Learning Program. Our Department has experienced purposeful growth over the past five years.

ESUI 5 World Language Districts — School Districts participating in the ESU 5 World Language Distance Learning Program.

This year, our seven Amazing Educators teach over 500 students in 15 school districts across the state.

This extraordinary situation allows our teachers to implement new solutions to new, and sometimes old, teaching problems. A positive outcome of our daily challenges comes in the form of regular conference opportunities. In the recent past, the department has been a big presence at NILA (the Nebraska International Language Association Conference), where Kelly Garcia and Christina Schroeder received the Best of Nebraska distinction in 2022.

I am so grateful that the ESU had so many specialists to work with my son, because now I know what to do to help my child with autism. The speech pathologist and occupational therapist from the ESU have allowed him to gain more than I ever expected him to. I don’t know what I would have done without them.
