Cadre of Educators Graduates from ESU #5’s 2nd Cohort!

A dedicated group of teachers engaged in a year long study around the science of reading and understanding how the brain actually learns to read.

Speech to Print by Louisa Moats served as our text for the learning journey.

Teachers learned about the necessity of word recognition skills and language comprehension skills being critical to gaining meaning from reading text.  This group embraced the fact that even though there is much to learn and keep learning, we cannot simply add on additional instructional practices, we must also discontinue those practices we know now are not effective.  Graduation from this learning cohort represents their dedication to changing instructional practices to align with evidence based practices.

Congratulations on your hard work and dedication to improving your craft!

2024 GRADUATION VIDEO

I am so grateful that the ESU had so many specialists to work with my son, because now I know what to do to help my child with autism. The speech pathologist and occupational therapist from the ESU have allowed him to gain more than I ever expected him to. I don’t know what I would have done without them.
